The Municipality made works on Avenida Circunvalación and enabled a new point to do physical activity in the area of 72 and 9. As part of the enhancement and renovation of La Plata spaces and with the aim of improving the quality of life of the residents, the Commune made available sports equipment and installed LED lights and recreational modules in the ring road that surrounds the city’s urban area.
From the Municipality it was reported that the new equipment located and located in the area of 72 and 9, includes a new tennis soccer field, which is added to the two already installed on streets 31 and 64 and 17 and 32, in addition to games and aerobics. The courts are built in two concrete modules covered with synthetic grass and a protective net for the enjoyment of children and adults.
The works and subsequent maintenance are in charge of the Secretariat of Public Spaces, with the aim of revitalizing the city’s green spaces, contemplating possible uses according to the needs established by calls made with the neighbors. “We continue to be close to the people of La Plata, responding to their demands and offering new possibilities for everyone to enjoy more and better spaces, close to their homes, in this case with equipment that promotes sports and healthy habits,” said the secretary communal, Joseph Etchart.
From that area they highlighted the importance of sports practice, since these executions allow encourage outdoor sports and help prevent diseases such as hypertension or obesity, which are becoming more frequent at an early age.
It should be noted that the Municipality plans in the coming weeks to complete the work on the entire Circunvalación, with another soccer field and the expansion of the playground and aerobics area. In this way, the tasks will fulfill the objective of revaluing and recovering the different green spaces of the city, and thus generate a sense of belonging and appropriation of public space, in order to continue advancing towards a new, more inclusive and sustainable urban common.
At the same time, it was reported that the Plan for Afforestation and maintenance of urban furniture in all intervened areas continues, as well as the modernization of existing lights for the improvement and optimization of consumption.
