Skujiņš from Carnika wins the MTB marathon stage in Cēsis

Skujiņš and Oskars Muižnieks (“DTG-MySport”) stayed together for the entire 50-kilometer distance, and after the first lap Muižnieks was ahead. In the sprint to the finish, while driving in Žagarkalns, Skujins turned out to be faster, ahead of his follower by 11 seconds. The winner reached the finish line in two hours, seven minutes and 54 seconds.

The third place was taken by Muižnieka’s teammate Lauris Purniņš.

On the other hand, in the women’s competition, Katrīna Jaunslaviete-Ķipure (ZZK) was the fastest at this stage, who beat her competitors by more than five minutes. The second place was taken by Evelina Ermane-Marchenko (“Giant&Liv”), while the third place went to Leld Ardava (“Veloprofs.lv”).

Meanwhile, Rainers Zviedrs (“Dako Zielmevidzeme”) won the half-marathon distance of the Latvian National Forests, Rolands Zarītis (“Patria Bottecchia”) finished second, who turned out to be faster than Aivi Karzona (“Velohooligans/Ķeizari-1”).

The ladies had already divided their places by distance and the first place went to Laura Ramanes (“Bauska cycling team”), the second was Monta Paulovića (“Adaži velo”), and the top three was completed by Amanda Reilija Zariņa (“Baldones cycling team”).

In the youth distance, Rihards Lozbers (“DTG-Mysport”) defended his honor as the season’s leader, who celebrated a convincing victory for the 6th stage in a row, ahead of his closest competitors by 2 minutes. Second place to Jurgis Freinats (“Engures sportam”), third place to Krist Buncim. For girls, Laura Kliesmet (“Baltais”) is the fastest this time, Patrićia Prieda (Ķekava NSS) is second, and Laura’s teammate Loreta Vaisūna (Ķekava NSS) is third.
