In two years almost to the day, the Olympic flame will shine in the Parisian sky as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Seine-et-Marne will have the pleasure of hosting the rowing and canoeing events on the waters of thepond of Vaires-sur-Marne.

But that’s not all. Being labeled “Terre de Jeux” by the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee (Cojop), the department has preparation centers for the Games, known as CPJs. Seine-et-Marne has about thirty. The objective of these structures is to welcome delegations from all over the world for a training course or as a rear base during the competition. They have been labeled on the basis of demanding specifications defined by Paris 2024 and the State. This allows them to appear in the official Paris 2024 catalog sent to all 206 National Olympic Committees.

18 sites

In Seine-et-Marne, 18 CPJs are currently receiving financial support from the Department. “We are going to inject nearly 8 million euros into these projects”, comment the services of the departmental council of Seine-et-Marne which indicate in passing that “21 projects must see the light of day on these sites”.
