The United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile and the hosts will face off over six days in men’s and women’s events
The Dominican Republic will host the FIBA 3×3 Nations Leagueevents that will be held from August 13 to 19 in Santo Domingo.
The Dominican men’s and women’s teams will be the hosts in the event where the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina and Chile will be.
The Dominican U-23 men’s team is made up of Hamlet Ruiz, Juan Junior Rosario, Luismal Ferreira, Juan Luis Betances, Jose Rodriguez and Raymond Bastardo.
The U-23 women’s team will in turn be made up of: Thais Esmerlyn Rojas, Yaira Faneyte, Johanna Calderón, Karla Pantaleón, Yadira Polanco and Frenny Boisdur.
The Dominican Republic has been standing out in this modality, competing in several events in recent years at the level of the great powers of the Americas.
The men’s teams have been responsible for obtaining medals in events such as the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla 2018 (silver) and bronze in the Pan American Games in Lima 2019, as well as in the Bolivarian Games in Valledupar 2022.
“We are very excited about the celebration of this event in our country and we feel confident that we will have a good turnout. We invite 3X3 basketball fans to join us in a continental-level tournament like this one,” said Elka Jiménez Garrido, National Coordinator of 3X3 Basketball in the Dominican Republic.
The girls of the same modality have also stood out internationally with their bronze medals in the Central American Games in Barranquilla and the Pan American Games in Lima. They also won the silver medal at the Jr. Pan American Games in Cali in 2021 and at the Guadeloupe 2022 Caribbean Games.
The matches will be held from August 13 to 19 at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel in Santo Domingo and the premiere of the venue in this city as the first time it is held in the American continent.
