San Sebastián and Truenos ahead in the LND basketball quarterfinals

SANTO DOMINGO, DR.– The San Sebastián de Moca club and Thunder from the National District took the lead this Thursday at the start of the quarterfinals of the U22 National Men’s Basketball Development League, in matches held in the Espaillat province and in the Capital.

These victories lead both teams to dominate their respective semifinal rounds 1-0, agreed at 3-2, in the tournament dedicated to Professor Fernando Teruel and option to the INAPA Cup (National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewage), sponsored by Wellington Arnaud .

San Sebastián defeated Mauricio Báez at home 90-84 in the clash staged at the Moca 85′ sports center in Espaillat, with the trilogy’s offense made up of Brayan De la Cruz, Kevin Núñez and Derekjeter Mejía, who scored 17 points each.

De la Cruz added 10 rebounds to complete a double-double, Nunez had eight rebounds and four assists, and Mejía had six turnovers. Willy Pérez had 13 baskets and six sacks, while Jeremy Guzmán had eight points and 13 catches.

For Mauricio, Juan Corporán scored 27 points and made 11 balls to finish with double figures, which Eduardo Mejía also achieved with 13 points and 11 balls caught; Eliezer Ramírez 19 units and Junior Galicia 15.

Thunder win in 4 overtime

Thunder from the National District needed four overtime this Thursday to beat the Bulldogs from Bameso, 135-131, a clash held at the Mauricio Báez club sports center.

Thunderheads lead 1-0 in their quarterfinal series against Bameso, best of 3-2.

Anpherne Acevedo led the charge with an offense of 35 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, followed by Miguel Brito with 24 points and nine catches, Robert De Jesús 19, Randy Bautista 14 and Ángel Puello 12 baskets plus seven rebounds.

Celen Montero was the best in Bameso’s attack with 33 points, Wilbert Carmona added 30 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double, David Peguero 21, seven rebounds and seven assists, and Yoneivy Sabino 11 and nine sacks.

The quarterfinals is a cross between both conferences of first against fourth and second against third.
