Thirty years to complete at the end of September, Croatian, Slavic school, 187 centimeters high, Roko Rogic, the new playmate of Acqua S. Bernardo, has already met Italy, in a fleeting appearance in Imola in 2016/17. He has grown up, he is an athlete from Croatia.
And right from the retirement of the Croatian national team – in pre-European training camp – he arrived in Cantù, a bit surprisingly, certainly ahead of schedule. A decision that he himself clarified: «I understood that for me, in the national team, the space would have been really limited. I spoke serenely with the coach about this situation and, with equal sincerity and serenity, we took the decision to leave the retreat in common accord, so that I could join my new team ».
Now, in Cantù, he expects a good season: «My goal was to return to Italy, I finally succeeded. I am happy to be here, ahead of schedule: I will be able to better develop the knowledge of coaches and teammates. I hope for an important season, aware that each league has its own characteristics: the important thing is to improve and adapt to requests and it doesn’t matter if you are a foreigner or an Italian, the important thing is to know how to assume your responsibilities ».
A true wanderer of basketball – he has changed many teams in his career, the last stop at Pierniki Torun in Poland -, he signed a two-year contract in Cantù: “In modern basketball it is difficult to find multi-year agreements, at thirty I am happy to have signed a more longer than usual “.
