Revealed! The reason why Enea Bastianini was chosen as a Lenovo Ducati racer in MotoGP 2023, instead of Jorge Martin: Okezone Sports

AENEAS Bastianini officially joined the Ducati factory team, namely Ducati Lenovo, in MotoGP 2023. General Manager of Ducati Corse, Gigi Dall’Igna, also revealed the reason for choosing Enea Bastianini over Jorge Martin to fill the one remaining place at Ducati Lenovo.

Yes, Enea Bastianini ended the speculation of the last few months regarding who should replace the role of Jack Miller. Ducati officially announced on Friday 26 August 2022, that Bastianini will be Francesco Bagnaia’s partner at Ducati Lenovo in the 2023 season.

Previously, Bastianini competed with Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin for the position. Until finally, he became the chosen one, while Martin stayed on his team.

Gigi Dall’agna realizes that joining a new driver in the first team is an uphill battle. However, with the driver chosen is Bastianini, he is sure to pass that phase well.

According to him, Bastianini has had good achievements in the last two years. On the other hand, the Italian racer was very cooperative to work with.

“Enea is a very talented rider who has matured a lot during these two years with Ducati. Of course, we will have critical phases to work through, but these are the people who are easier to reason with,” Gigi said, quoted on the Paddock GP page, Sunday (28/8/2022).

“When I said that Ducati had not decided, they didn’t believe me. Enea deserved it, now it’s up to her to prove that her choice was the right one.”

As is known, Bastianini has indeed displayed impressive performances in the last few seasons. He successfully won the title in the Moto2 class before finally moving up to the MotoGP class in 2021.

Being a rookie rider in MotoGP 2021, he can compete with other experienced racers, even though he ends up in 13th place. In 2022, so far, Bastianini is ranked 6th with 3 wins.
