Real Madrid defeat Eintracht Frankfurt

Real Madrid – Frankfurt (2-0)
Real: David Alaba (37e), Karim Benzema (65e)
Frankfurt:

Real Madrid mastered Frankfurt on Wednesday evening in Helsinki, after their success (2-0) to win their 5th European Supercup, as much as AC Milan and their rival Barcelona.

Controlled Victory

After a rather balanced start to the match where the two teams managed to exchange attacking opportunities, Real Madrid finally proved to be more effective by opening the scoring in the wake of Alaba following a corner kick played in three stages . A very good first period here in Helsinki. The second period was only a logical continuation of the last minutes of the first act. New Spanish domination the crossbar hit on a strike from Casemiro and the goal of the break from Benzema, being much less worried by the Germans.

More than 60% possession with an 89% pass rate: the trio carried by Benzema (scorer in the 66th) oiled a collective machine that is still dominating and experienced, well helped by the usual trident in the middle with Kroos, Casemiro and Modric.

German lack of realism

Despite good attempts to doubt the Madrid monster, Frankfurt lacked realism, especially in the last gestures. Against Real Madrid, this kind of failure is very expensive, moreover, the opportunities were present and clear for the German formation until the opening of the score of Alaba. The intentions were clearly good and it is to be underlined, but some waste and other errors in the offensive production were the last straw for Frankfurt.
