Real Madrid: Casemiro tears farewell! Extra words to Toni Kroos – FOOTBALL

With his farewell, the end of a royal era begins.

On Monday, Real Madrid star Casemiro, 30, announced his departure from the Spanish capital at a press conference at the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to media reports, the Brazilian is moving to Manchester United for around 70 million euros and is said to earn around 20 million euros gross with the English – twice as much as in Madrid.

After nine years with the royals, the midfield clearer cannot hold back the tears on the farewell PK. When he enters the stage and walks to the lectern, Casemiro immediately grabs his handkerchief.

He explains: “People who think I’m leaving for the money don’t know me. If it was about money, I would have left years ago. The club took good care of me and I’m leaving to finish my story.”

Casemiro especially thanks two teammates: “When I talk about my teammates, I can’t forget to mention two of them, Modric and Kroos. I really enjoyed playing with them.”

For years, Casemiro had Toni Kroos (32) and Luka Modrić (36) in Real midfield. With the three-man structure as the axis of success, the Madrilenians won three championships and five Champions League titles.

Casemiro: “It was difficult to tell Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić that I’m leaving. But I’m being honest with myself, and my story here is over.”

Now he is moving to the fallen giant in Manchester. He should set an example for the English record champions and provide new impetus after the catastrophic start with two bankruptcies against Brighton (1: 2) and Brentford (0: 4).

The new “Red Devil”: “What I want is to pass on my values. I want to pass on what I have learned here. The winning mentality, the work, everyday life… I want to learn from the Premier League, a wonderful league. At 30, I’m in my prime. I still enjoy everyday life and that’s the best part.”

President Florentino Perez (75) also found the right words for his farewell. The real boss: “We experienced a wonderful story. We love you very much. Real Madrid is and will always be your home.”
