Rafael Santos Borré’s Frankfurt suffered a humiliating beating against Bayern Munich

German football kicked off its season with a landslide victory for Bayern Munich visiting Eintracht Frankfurt. The team in which the Colombian Rafael Santos Borré plays, current champion of the Europa League, lived a real nightmare at home during a commitment that was decided in the first half.

just after 5 minutes, Joshua Kimmich had already opened the scoring with a masterful free kick take just outside the wall. The midfielder took the ball and before the goalkeeper could give an answer, he finished off with the inner edge, accommodating the ball in the corner of the left upright.

The Bavarian steamroller continued their party after 10 minutes, when a cross from the side ended in a ball without an owner inside the area. The French Benjamin Pavard realized the possibility of scoring and with a strong cross shot he sentenced the transitory 2-0.

Borré and his teammates managed to get some breathing room until half an hour into the game, when Bayern pressed the accelerator again and scored another three goals before going into the break. At minute 29 came Sadio Mané’s scoring debut in the Bundesliga, with a header after a good cross from Gnabry.

The celebration suited Mané so well that at 35 ‘the fourth play started. He assisted Müller into the area and he, in turn, crossed it low to the ground so that Jamal Musiala only had to push it, showing that the Frankfurt defense had one of the worst nights in its recent history.

The fifth and last of the first half came at 43′ with a ball into space for Gnabry. With the goal at his disposal, the German defined under the goalkeeper and celebrated another goal of his team with the particular celebration of him, silencing a surprised Deutsche Bank Park with the humiliating thrashing against his team.

With a long face due to the scandalous result, Frankfurt went to rest in search of solutions to avoid a historic win on their field. Coach Oliver Glasner’s solution was to remove Santos Borré from the field and strengthen the midfield, with the aim of slowing down the Bavarian attack.

Fortunately, Glasner’s strategy worked and the Eagles suffered much less than in the first half. They even got the discount quickly, but the goal was disallowed for a foul. Eintracht had to wait until the 64th minute to cover up the beating a bit, thanks to Kolo Muani’s goal that revived the chants of his fans.

Even when Bayern closed the key to goals, they did have clear scoring chances with Sané and Gnabry, but they missed them already knowing that the three points were in their pocket. The last of the game, to sentence the final 6-1, came only in the 83rd minute through Musiala’s brace with an excellent left-footed definition at the exit of goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.

The start of the season for Borré and his team was not the best and now they have very few arguments ahead of the European Super Cup to be played next Wednesday in Helsinki against Real Madrid. Now the Eagles will have to appeal to turn the page and find motivation somewhere to face a match in which the clear favorite is the ‘merengue’ team.

For the Colombian it will be his first time in a match of this height, hoping that the team will recover the memory of what was done last season and quickly forget this night of terror against the more than ample candidate to stay with the Bundesliga.
