Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl confirms the arrival of Tim Merlier, Jan Hirt and Casper Pedersen | cycling

The fact that Tim Merlier would drive for Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl next season had seemed a foregone conclusion for a while. Today, the team also officially confirmed the arrival of the Belgian champion. The 29-year-old sprinter has signed a contract with Patrick Lefevere’s team until the end of 2025.

Jan Hirt has also put his crib under a contract with Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl. The 31-year-old Czech has an agreement until the end of 2024 and comes over from Intermarché-Wanty Gobert, where he is experiencing a second youth this season, including final victory in the Tour of Oman.

Hirt also impressed in the Giro. The Czech placed 6th in the general classification and impressed with a stage win in the mountain stage to Aprica. With the arrival of Hirt, the climbing core of the team around Remco Evenepoel will be a bit extra upholstered.

Finally, Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl has also secured the services of Casper Pedersen. The 26-year-old Dane makes the switch from Team DSM and signed a contract for 2 years. Pedersen, who won Paris-Tours in 2020, will get a place in the sprint train for Tim Merlier.
