More than 100 players took part in the junior circuit tournament.
With more than 100 registered among all categories, the Provincial Junior Tournament of the Salteña Tennis Association (AST) was held last weekend. The competition took place in different stages of the province; in Capital it was played in the set of Atléticos Tenis Club, in Vaqueros in Zeidal Multiespacios and in Metán in Club Atlético Libertad.
The champions at Zeidal Multiespacios were: 10-year-old ladies, Jade Rojas; gentlemen 10 years, Salvador Garijo (champion) and Iván Álvarez (second chance); in gentlemen 12 years A,: Gerónimo Páez and Marcos Moreno (second chance); and in gentlemen 12 years B, Santiago Martínez and Alejandro Exeni (second chance).
At the Atléticos headquarters: gentlemen B, Felipe Cisneros and Jaime Tuya (second chance); in category C, Renzo Giansanti and Enzo Cil (second chance); in ladies B, Inés Mardones and Pilar Rojas (second chance); and in ladies C, Matilde Casado and Ana Belén Álvarez (second chance).
Meanwhile, Francisco Born was champion in Libertad de Metán and Juan Martín Santamaría was the finalist in men’s A. Pedro Zunino won on second chance and Mercedes Zunino was the finalist.
According to what was reported by the AST, next Saturday the qualifying contest for the Evita Games will begin on the courts of the Salta Syrian-Lebanese Union.
For their part, the tennis players of the higher categories will start next Saturday the 75th Anniversary Tournament of the “Federico Kosiner” Jockey Club. Today will close the term to participate in the singles modality; to sign up for doubles there is time until August 17.
