My prediction: Gauff beats Badosa in straight sets (2.10)
Cori Gauff is asserting herself more and more at the top of world tennis. The very young American remains on an authoritative success against Naomi Osaka. I thought the Japanese was going to be able to worry her but the 11th in the WTA was far superior and impressed me. The Roland Garros finalist is not very far from passing a real decisive milestone in her career. The state of form is therefore for her while Paula Badosa is going through a very bad patch. The Spaniard’s start to the season had been interesting but since her semi-final in Indian Wells she hasn’t done much and her performances are not worthy of a 4th player in the world. Beaten by Gauff in Doha this year in straight sets, I see the same scenario happening tonight to more than double the lead.
