(AGENPARL) – Sat 20 August 2022 Important reaction of the Bolognese in the second round against Parmaclima: at the Falchi the hosts win 8-4, scoring 7 points in a single round and grabbing a draw in the series. On Tuesday the semifinals will move to Parma, with game 3 play-ball at 20:30.
The second round of the semi-final championship between UnipolSai and Parmaclima is won by Frignani’s men, with a big inning of five hits and seven scores that put the match downhill from its preliminary stages. Excellent performance of the Bolognese, with the Crepaldi-Bassani tandem on the mountain that puts the signature on the second semifinal derby of the Via Emilia, now in perfect equality with a victory for both teams.
On the mound the challenge is between the home starter Crepaldi, who wins the ballot on the eve with Andretta, and the Parma Fabiani, while the Liberatore and Mineo receivers are confirmed behind the home plate.
First inning that begins with three quick eliminations by Crepaldi, interspersed with the single by Joseph: a bouncy from the lead-off Koutsoyanopulos, followed by a spectacular jump catch by the former Paolini and another out on the fly by Dobboletta. In the batting box, UnipolSai arrives at first base with a eliminated thanks to the base-ball gained by Josephina, who immediately tries to steal the second but is eliminated by the powerful assistance of Mineo. Soon after it is Gonzalez who pushes a powerful triple to the right and stands on the pillow closest to home plate but Fabiani is good at making Martini beat a ground-out that extinguishes the Bolognese hopes of starting the match with the advantage.
In the second round Crepaldi immediately scores two eliminations on the board thanks to Gonzalez’s rebound and Astorri’s sprint, but Rodriguez hits a violent double against the fence on the left outside, moving into point position. The starter of UnipolSai, however, is skilled in scoring the first strikeout of the match on Talevi, closing the home defense. After coming close in the previous round, on the second attack of the match Frignani’s men give a decisive push to the match making even 7 scoring: Agretti arrives at first base with a hit-by-pitch, Grimaudo pushes the Bolognese dh to third base with a single on the right and then two photocopied games arrive, with Liberatore and Dobboletta scoring two consecutive valid bunts, allowing as many runners to enter home-base. The two baseballs on Paolini and Josephina increase the lead on 3-0, forcing the change on the mountain with the new relief Aldegheri, who, however, has to deal with Gonzalez and Lampe, authors of two doubles of 4 RBI overall that bring the partial on 7-0 for Bologna.
With a large advantage, Crepaldi administers the ducal clubs without any problem in their third attack, with Aldegheri responding with the same coin during the Unipolsai offensive phase, thanks also to a beautiful dive on the fly of the outside center Koutsoyanopulos.
At the fourth inning comes another sliding door of the match, with Parmaclima trying to react after having collected the disadvantage and dangerously approaching the hosts, scoring four points thanks to the sacrifice sprint of Gonzalez and the hits of Talevi and Flisi, who bring home first Joseph, who arrived first on base-ball, then Mineo, Astorri (valid for both) and Talevi himself, while on the Bolognese mountain Bassani succeeds Crepaldi on the mound. Aldegheri has no problems in the lower part of the second half to contain the fortitude attack despite the defensive error that brings Josephina to first base, effectively opening the doors to the fifth inning with unchanged score.
In a game that has gradually turned out to be more balanced than was predictable after the second round, Parmaclima tries in the fifth inning to further narrow the score gap, but Bassani is cold in closing the gate preventing any offensive sortie, while in attack the UnipolSai takes Lampe to third base but fails to capitalize on the opportunity due to the launches of an Aldegheri who now seems to control the home line-up without worries.
The penultimate round of the match opens with a valuable play by Lampe, who captures a sprint from Astorri in a slip, while Rodriguez scores a double with a texas that falls a few centimeters from the foul line. The subsequent eliminations of Talevi and Flisi, however, prevent the yellow and blue from approaching a balance. In the box Bologna does not give up and extends in the score on 8-4: thanks to the hits of Gonzalez and Martini, which induce coach Poma to operate the change on the mountain, with Capellano taking the place of Aldegheri and ending the inning.
It is always Bassani who takes care of the final inning of the match, inaugurated by the validation of Koutsoyanopulos and by the base-ball granted to Desimoni that lead Parma to occupy first and second. But a line of Joseph caught on the fly by Martini is enough to change the inertia of the inning, thanks to the double play that Frignani’s men manage to complete and to the ground-ball that effectively closes the match on a score of 8-4 .
