Olmos shared that he is now preparing to return to Spain to start the preseason with the Hereda San Pablo Burgos team, which was relegated to the Spanish Gold Basketball League. His dream is to be promoted to the ACB for the 2022-2023 season.

“We have a very nice project in Burgos. What we want is to have a successful stage there. But if I see a gap, I’ll come back here because in the end, When I left Spain, I felt very comfortable here, very protected. I will always have great memories of Angelo Medina, who was the person who gave Paco Olmos a chance. I love Puerto Rico”, he reiterated.

The pilot stated that he enjoyed the match on Monday very much. Likewise, he highlighted the growth that he has seen in the BSN thanks to the arrival of new owners, the use of social networks to promote matches and the quality of imported and native players.

In the case of the owners, it should be noted that the Cowboys were acquired by the St. Louis Cardinals player, Yadier Molina. Meanwhile, reggaeton singers Bad Bunny and Anuel AA are with the Cangrejeros and the Capitanes, respectively

“I was lucky enough to play a final here (in 2016, when he led Bayamón to the runner-up position) with the Capitanes de Arecibo. I am very happy about several things. First, because I think the league is making an effort to be a really professional league. The arrival of new owners has made it take on a new dimension. I think there are top level reinforcements from the beginning and the native players are here from the beginning. Before you had to wait for them to come. I think it has been a great regular league. I think the exhibition YouTube and in Facebook It makes us all follow it”, he said.

Olmos, who is married to Puerto Rican Rosimar Ríos, shared that he has spent the summer in Puerto Rico to take care of his mother-in-law, who is experiencing a health problem. However, he was grateful for the fact that he was able to take time out to enjoy a good game.

“What a nice ending to be able to come to the first game of the final (of the BSN). I have great admiration, respect, affection and friendship with Wilfredo Pagán (general manager of the Cowboys). It has been a different summer, that I have been able to be here without enjoying it, but it has been something very nice to be in contact with the people that you know really love you in Puerto Rico”, he pointed out.
