2K Games is launching the Michael Jordan Challenge today NBA 2K23 which promises a unique experience this year.
The game mode promises 15 playable moments from Jordan’s career, allowing players to relive his legacy from his early days as a college sensation to his 1998 NBA Finals.
“The Jordan Challenge is an immersive experience unlike anything NBA 2K fans have seen before. It completely rebuilds the challenges from 2K11 and adds five new moments,” said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts. “Our team took everything into account when developing this game mode; The arenas, the players, the uniforms, the broadcast and the playing style of the era have all been considered to offer fans a truly authentic and unique Jordan playable experience.”
It promises to be a stunning recreation of a bygone era, from the 1982 NCAA National Championship to the 1998 NBA Finals. Each challenge includes a pre-game interview with a luminary who was part of what made each game special.

It also includes a complete presentation package with an intricately designed video filtering system that recreates the television experience of these games as they originally aired in the 1980s and 1990s, plus the look, feel and sound of yesteryear.
In terms of play, important gameplay changes have also been implemented that correspond to the era, such as e.g. B. An increased focus on the post and middle distance game and revamping the transition game for that 1980s feel. This also includes signature style upgrades for classic greats like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, with brand new jump shot, layup and dunk packages.
Finally, look forward to hand checks and hard-hitting body-ups for a different feel than one-on-one matches with detailed rules reflecting the basketball era of the 1990s, like the Detroit Pistons’ “Bad Boys” with their famous “Jordan Rules” and more.
