National basketball player Isaac Bonga apparently before moving to Bayern Munich

National basketball player Isaac Bonga is apparently about to return to Germany after four seasons in the NBA. Like the specialist portal BasketNews reported on Friday morning, the 22-year-old is said to have agreed on a change with the German runners-up Bayern Munich.

The 2.03 m tall and defensively strong guard, who is missing from the German national team’s squad for the home European Championship (September 1 to 18) due to an injury, switched from the Frankfurt Skyliners to the USA in 2018.

Bonga played 143 main round and five playoff games in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers, who drafted him 39th, the Washington Wizards and the Toronto Raptors.

Most recently, Bonga was only used for Toronto’s farm team. According to BasketNews, there was vague interest in Bonga from NBA teams, but he preferred to return to Europe.

Two more German pros with NBA pasts are under contract at Bayern in Paul Zipser (Chicago Bulls) and more recently Elias Harris (Lakers).
