Monzón de Campos celebrates today the feast of the Nabal Battle. It is a historical commemoration referring to the legend by which the Muslims in charge of Abderramán III and the counts of the Banu-Ansurez family disputed the collection of the pariahs in this territory. The people, supposing that these taxes would make them starve, responded with a tremendous rain of turnips. The activities will begin at 11 am, with a solidarity market in the Plaza Mayor. From 12 noon to 2:00 p.m., Palencians will be able to enjoy medieval wrestling and archery workshops and feel like just another medieval character.
At 1:30 p.m., the charanga will begin in the main establishments of the municipality, which will last two hours. At 6:00 p.m., the monsoons can dress up as medieval characters in the cultural center. Half an hour later, it will be the appointment of the Lord or Lady of the town of Monzón in the Plaza Mayor.
At 7:00 p.m., the Nabal Battle show will take place on the Major bridge. The party will end in the Plaza Mayor with a sausage and a Rumba Stress concert, followed by a humorous performance by El Circo del Señor Julián.
