MLB August 14 National League recap: Dodgers’ winning streak ends at 12

Brady Singer allowed just one hit in six innings and the Kansas City Royals ended the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 12-game winning streak with a 4-0 win on Sunday.

It was the first time since 1976 that the Dodgers had won 12 games in a row.

Singer (6-4) struck out seven batters and walked three. It was the second time in four starts that he allowed a major league powerhouse a single hit after shutting out the New York Yankees for seven innings July 28 at Yankee Stadium.

He has a very respectable 3.29 earned run average.

Scott Barlow recorded the last four outs, including three on strikes, to earn his 19th save.

Vinnie Pasquantino hit his seventh homer and drove in two runs. Salvador Perez, with a double in the first inning, and Kyle Isbel, with a single in the sixth, drove in the other Royals runs.

Dodgers starter Tyler Anderson (13-2) allowed three runs in six innings. He suffered his second defeat of the season, his first since June 27.

SD : Blake Snell (5-6) had ten strikeouts. Manny Machado has two hits and two RBIs.
WAS : Joey Meneses had two of his team’s seven hits.

Atlanta 3 – Miami 1
ATL : Michael Harris II started a game-winning three-run streak in the 9th with a home run and the Braves swept the four-game series.
MIA : Braxton Garrett blanked the Braves for six innings.

Philadelphia 0 – NY Mets 6
PHI : Zack Wheeler (11-6) allowed six runs in as many innings against his former team.
NYM : The Mets have won eight of their last nine games.

Milwaukee 3 – St. Louis 6
MIL : Hunter Renfroe hit his 20th of the season as Rowdy Tellez got his 24th.
STL : Albert Pujols hit two home runs. Canadian Tyler O’Neill and Dylan Carlson also homered.

Arizona 7 – Colorado 4
ARI : Christian Walker hit four hits, including a three-run homer. He had four RBIs.
COL : Ryan McMahon was three for four with an RBI and a run scored.

Pittsburgh 7 – San Francisco 8
PIT : Bryan Reynolds hit a three-run homer and drove in five runs.
SF : LaMonte Wade hit a three-run homer. Thairo Estrada hit a game-winning two-run homer late in the ninth.
