Serbian basketball player Vasilje Micic revealed to his country’s news portal “Sport Klub” that he had thoughts of moving to the National Basketball Association, but he is satisfied with the current situation in his club “Anadolu Efes”.

The most valuable player of 2021 and this year’s Euroleague “Final Four”, as well as last season, Micic signed a new contract with the Istanbul club in July, and as the basketball player himself admitted, the decision was relatively easy.

“The next step in my career would be the NBA. The deadline was July 20, but I chose to stay. Even before the deadline, I was pretty sure of my decision. Everything is perfect for me. I doubt about moving to the other side of the ocean. Doubts are not only for me, but for everyone who is in a similar position as me. If only you are Luka Doncic or Nikola Jokic,” Micic explained his opinion on not coming to America.

The NBA rights to the Serbian basketball player belong to the Oklahoma City Thunder team. Micic joined the “Anadolu Efes” team in 2018, and in recent seasons he has become one of the best players in the Euroleague. “I have nothing to prove there. The current situation is good for me, maybe someday I will go to the NBA, time will tell,” said the basketball player.

The 28-year-old Micic has been included in the list of candidates for the Serbian national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers as well as the European Championship.

Last season, the Serbian played 34 games, posting 18.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The star defender, in addition to the MVP trophy and the Euroleague title won, was also the top scorer of the tournament and won the Alfonso Ford Award.
