Memphis Depay is reportedly an issue at Borussia Dortmund. The Catalan newspaper ‘Sport’ reports that BVB have contacted the attacking player’s entourage. BVB is looking at a free transfer or a loan – for which Depay would have to extend his contract with FC Barcelona, which expires in 2023.
According to the current status, a premature termination of the contract seems more likely. Just yesterday could be heardthat lawyers of both parties negotiate about such. Blaugrana’s original plan envisaged a sale for 20 million euros, a buyer was sought in vain.
A one-to-one replacement for the 1.90 meter tall Sébastien Haller (28) would not be Depay, the 28-year-old Dutchman is not a classic penalty area striker, acts flexibly around the nine position. Should Depay actually come onto the market free of charge, BVB should at least start pondering.
