However, coach Máyer Candelo spoke with Caracol Radio and referred to his relationship with the Barranquilla player, clearing up doubts after he was not taken into account for the last match against Envigado.
“Nothing has happened. There is a discipline and a work order, where the players have to respect it, they are the conditions that we have put in place so that everything goes well, that has been what has been handled since I arrived,” Máyer commented.
Likewise, Candelo confirmed hours before that: “Teófilo Gutiérrez is not going to start today, he will be among the substitutes waiting for his chance.”
But the Deportivo Cali coach clarified that there is no punishment on Gutiérrez Roncancio: “I don’t punish anyone, I’m not their father. I’m just the coach where there is a discipline that must be respected, an order of life that must be carrying my idea is that everything agreed is fulfilled, from them to me and from the coaching staff to them”.
