Basketball in Campania is experiencing one of the best moments in its history. Napoli is ready for its second season in Serie A and in the meantime other companies are working on their growth. There is not only basketball but also Sand Basketa discipline that is increasingly gaining ground and that concerns beach basketball.
Vincenzo Pio Follo, president of the newborn Mata Leao Benevento, told his impressions to the microphones of Preview24.it, here are his words:
“We are a group of friends with a common past on the basketball courts. We meet once or twice a week to play together and when we read about the possibility of participating in a Sand Basket tournament we took the opportunity to compete with a completely new but really very attractive discipline ”.
Sand Basket, a new regulation for this sport
It is played four on four, four six-minute quarters and the player explained:
“The sand from this point of view complicates things but at the same time favors team play. It follows that there can be no personal actions, the ball must be moved in speed and everything suggests a total involvement of the players on the pitch. Being very close, this can be a strong advantage for us. But we’ll see ”.
Thanks to a tournament won in June, the captain passionately reached the Scudetto finals of Scauri and continued:
“We were delighted to have won the qualification, we understood that we can have our say and now we can’t wait to move on to the next step”. Then she went on:“In us there is the awareness of facing difficult challenges that will involve a high expenditure of energy, but we certainly do not want to be an extra”.
A new interesting reality ready to amaze with this new sport.
