Where to go with Cristiano Ronaldo? At the latest after the completely messed up start to the season, this question hovers more than ever over the Manchester United superstar. A last transfer option is said to be emerging: BVB.
That’s right, Cristiano Ronaldo’s “last transfer hope” is called Borussia Dortmund. The US broadcaster reports “CBS Sports“. The Portuguese’s requirements for his possible new employer are quickly told: he should play Champions League football in the coming season.
Ronaldo only qualified for the Europa League with Manchester United last season. After numerous clubs (including FC Bayern, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid) are unable or unwilling to finance a transfer, the number of potential buyers is decreasing day by day.
However, Ronaldo’s advisor Jorge Mendes is still pushing for a farewell to Manchester – and according to “Bild” he has therefore actually offered his clients to BVB.
However, a move to Borussia Dortmund can be more than doubted. On the one hand, BVB has already spent more than 90 million euros on new players, on the other hand, the black and yellow would have to pay Ronaldo’s princely annual salary. The 37-year-old earns more than 30 million euros with the Red Devils.
“Bild” also writes that CR7 is not only too old for the black and yellow, but also too expensive, so a transfer will not take place. The superstar just doesn’t fit into Dortmund’s plans.
Youth club Sporting “doesn’t want” Ronaldo
The report from “CBS Sports” also shows that a transfer to Ronaldo’s youth club Sporting was never a serious option. Although the Portuguese runner-up qualified for the premier class, the club simply “doesn’t feel like it” for the old star.
Despite the surprising rumors about BVB and Ronaldo, Manchester United are said to be interested in Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier. The Belgian does not completely convince the black and yellow and was recently associated with FC Barcelona.
With regard to United, however, Meunier will not be included in the Ronaldo talks. A barter transaction is therefore expressly excluded.
