LUIS Milla is often fired, including when he was training for the Indonesian national team, will he have the same fate at Persib Bandung? Yes, that question is a common thing for Luis Milla. Because, according to a track record, the coach with the Spanish passport is often fired when he is in control of a team, including the Indonesian national team.

As previously known, one of the 2022-2023 Liga 1 teams, Persib Bandung, recently trusted Luis Milla as his coaching chair, after Robert Rene Alberts parted ways with Persib Bandung. Persib Bandung’s decision to recruit Luis Milla surprised all domestic football lovers.

This is because Luis Milla is known to be poor across the country, before finally landing in the country, to hold the Indonesian national team in 2017-2018. However, how did Luis Milla’s career as a coach actually turn out?

Well, before discussing that, let’s talk about the beginning of Luis Milla’s coaching career. Yes, the man who was born in Teruel, Spain, March 12, 1966, started his coaching career at UD Puzol, which was the Spanish ninth caste team in 2006.

His work was quite good, until Getafe glanced at him in 2007-2008, in order to give confidence to Luis Milla to become Michael Laudrup’s assistant. However, it did not last long, because he was trusted to occupy the coaching chair for the Spanish U-19 and U-20 national teams in 2008 ago.

Luis Milla’s career is actually quite smooth with the Spanish U-19 and U-20 national teams. Evidently, he was able to bring his team shot up to the final of the U-19 European Cup in 2010. Although, failing to win after losing to France (1-2), Luis Milla is predicted to have a cold touch for the young Spanish national team.

However, he did not continue, in 2013 Luis Milla chose his luck outside Europe. Yes, he traveled to the United Arab Emirates club, Al-Jazira. However, in the Middle East, it seems to have lost its momentum. He was fired because he was considered a failure with Al-Jazira for eight months.

He also chose to return home to coach the Spanish League second division team, Lugo. However, shortly thereafter, he resigned in February 2016, then was entrusted with the reins at Real Zaragoza in July 2016.

Here, he is able to make the Indonesian national team play well, even though he has not been able to produce a trophy. Luis Milla’s best achievement was sealing the 2017 SEA Games silver medal with the U-23 Indonesian national team. Meanwhile, Luis Milla was only able to deliver the Indonesian national team to the last 16 of the 2018 ASIAN Games.

However, Luis Milla is considered unsatisfactory. PSSI also took steps to fire him in October 2018.

Yes, it was his third dismissal while holding a team. From there, he decided to take a break from the world of coaching.

After being absent from coaching since 2018, Luis Milla returned to the country and officially became the coach of Persib Bandung. With this track record, is Luis Milla able to bring Persib Bandung to glory, or is it the other way around? Yes, of course we all should look forward to Luis Milla’s performance at Persib Bandung this season.
