Hardly any other German national soccer player is as divided as Leroy Sané. At FC Bayern, he is currently developing in a positive way – even with “talent-free actions”.
EJulian Nagelsmann then hid a small criticism in his enthusiasm for Leroy Sané’s impressive performance in FC Bayern’s 7-0 victory in Bochum. The 26-year-old attacker “made a sensational game,” said the Munich coach, but that wasn’t a surprise, because: “If he’s 100 percent up for it, then he’s one of the best players in Europe, that’s just the way it is .” On the one hand, Sané will be pleased with this praise, but at the same time it makes it clear once again that the national player’s sometimes somewhat uninvolved charisma can continue to become a problem.
In the Supercup against Leipzig and in the first two Bundesliga games, Sané was not in the starting XI, although there are many places available in Nagelsmann’s new four-attacker system. There had already been speculation about Sané’s loss of importance in the Munich squad. At the latest after the demonstration of the power of the record champions on Castroper Straße, it is clear that Sané is really keen on his job at the moment. He’s in great shape, and he may even be about to finally let his talent flourish in full glory on a permanent basis.
