Two-time Wimbledon tennis champion Petra Kvitová is getting married. Jiří Vaněk, the coach and partner in one person, asked her to marry him.
“I want to share the happy news with you. I said ‘yes’ at my favorite place,” Kvitová wrote on social networks and attached a photo from the tennis complex of the All England Club in Wimbledon, where she triumphed twice. At the same time, the engagement ring is already shining on her hand.
Vaněk has been training Kvitová since 2016, there has been talk of them forming a couple for the past two years. The former great tennis player Vaněk, who is twelve years older than Kvitová, has two sons from his previous marriage to former tennis player Markéta Kochtová.
In the past, Kvitová (32) dated, among others, tennis players Adam Pavlásek and Radek Štěpánek.
Kvitova is now preparing for Monday’s start of the US Open in New York. She showed good form before the final Grand Slam of the season last week in Cincinnati, where she advanced to the final.
