Kvitova apologized to the Tunisian. It depends on how I sleep, explained the Czech

She hasn’t beaten a player in the top ten since February, and now she’s even given the top five in the world a canary. Czech tennis player Petra Kvitová is feeling her form again at the tournament in Cincinnati, Tunisian Uns Džábirová even apologized after advancing to the quarterfinals.

It was a see-saw match. First, she won the first set in style 6:1, lost the next set 4:6, and then Kvitová, the fifth player in the world, gave the canary. After the match, she even felt the need to apologize to her opponent.

“I’m sorry Uns for the lines that fell on me there, I didn’t even want it like that. Sometimes there are days when you go for it, but it flies out of the court and sometimes it fits like this. It depends on how I sleep. And today was a great match from both sides,” beamed Kvitová after advancing to the quarterfinals.

The last time she won three matches in a row was in June during a winning campaign in Eastbourne, England, since then she has been struggling with a recurring wrist injury and is looking for her old form.

“In Eastbourne it was on grass, on my beloved grass. She was even faster there than at Wimbledon. Here it’s something else, I even ran away from the match point in the first round. These three matches will help my self-confidence a lot,” believes the thirty-two-year-old tennis player.

The Tennis Now server even published an article after her triumph on Thursday with a question mark in the headline: “Is Petra Kvitová a player we should watch at the US Open?”

According to the editors, the Czech could cause a stir in New York, as her form is visibly improving and she is starting to improve physically. He manages three-set battles even on a heated court.

“It wasn’t good in Toronto yet, I was eliminated in the first round, but the three matches in Cincinnati helped me catch the pace of the match, and this tournament is not exactly one of my favorites,” the Czech tennis player smiles.

She will play against Ajla Tomljanovic from Australia, against whom she has never played before, for the semi-finals on Friday at 19:30 CET.

“I believe that my form is finally settling down, everything is coming together, I will try to continue,” promised the tennis player from Fulnek.
