Kate Middleton will play tennis against Roger Federer for a charitable purpose

Next month, ahead of the Laver Cup, Kate and Roger Federer will join forces at the Laver Cup Open Training Day to raise funds for two of their sponsorships: Action for Children and the Lawn Tennis Association, whose offshoot of fundraiser is the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Action for Children supports vulnerable young people and campaigns to improve their lives through the 512 services it runs across the UK. The LTA Tennis Foundation encourages people who have never played the sport to try tennis and works with the local communities it serves to achieve results.

The Laver Cup Open Training Day is on September 22 and takes place at The O2 in London. On Open Training Day, Roger Federer will join other tennis greats from “Team Europe” and “Team World” for final training before the Laver Cup.

Kensington Palace has also announced that the Duchess and Roger Federer will attend a pre-Open Training Day meeting in east London, with tennis matches played by children from Action for Children and LTA Serves, one of the leading initiatives. of the LTA Tennis Foundation.

The partnership between the Laver Cup, Action for Children and the LTA Tennis Foundation was Kate’s idea. The Palace said the Duchess “is passionate about supporting grassroots tennis and encouraging young people of all backgrounds to get involved in the sport.”
