Judo Camp 2022 – Disneyland

After a two-year Corona break, the popular judo camp of the Hollager Judoka could finally take place again during these summer holidays. While the content was tried and tested, many framework conditions changed.
With a good 30 participants, significantly fewer judoka found their way to the Haselandhalle this year than the average for the first 20 camps. In addition, there were only two participants who had previously attended a camp. The corona restrictions have accordingly contributed to a large change in membership in the department and have now virtually caused the judo camp to restart. The support team has also changed significantly. Throughout the entire week with Jennifer Juber only one experienced supervisor could stand in the hall, she was supported almost exclusively by committed, young supervisors during the week. Only at the weekend were other experienced supervisors on the mat. At this point, however, it should already be noted that in particular Luca Klein, Stina Klein, Carina Siltmann, Annika Siltmann and Lara Oelgemoeller showed an impressive level of commitment and made the 21st Judo Camp possible with their commitment.

In terms of content, the Judo Camp in 2022 was themed “Disney”. Accordingly, many varied movement units revolved around Ariel, Aladdin, Mini Mouse and Co. After a two-year break, the organizational team had also integrated several highlights into the weekly schedule for the restart. In addition to the popular parent-child judo, in which the children were allowed to throw mum and dad on the mat, a trainer vs. children unit, in which the supervisors competed against the kids, an overnight stay in a hall on the final day with a scary night hike over the Hollager Berg and a trip to the Bullermeck games paradise in Alfhausen, there were three other special program items this year. First of all, the Go-Sports-Tour of the District Sports Association of Osnabrück-Land stopped at the Judo Camp and made it possible to do a variety of sports on numerous large and small devices that had been brought along. In addition, the former president of the German Judo Federation, Peter Frese, visited the judo camp and conducted a playful and lovingly shaped judo unit that inspired children and carers alike. Of course, the popular summer party for parents, participants and friends of the department could not be missing. Instead of a demonstration, this year the club championship of the department took place as part of the festival. After a brief knowledge of the rules for the predominantly new judo parents, the children competed against each other in groups of four and consistently showed great fights.

An obstacle course through Disney Land, handicraft lessons based on the motto and a variety of judo units with different trainers rounded off the program.

After the judo camp ended with more or less sleep on Sunday morning, the joy of a successful judo week and the return of a little more normality was written all over the faces of participants, supervisors and parents. All sides can therefore already look forward to the 22nd Judo Camp, which will be held by Tuesday 11 July to Sunday 16 July 2023 will take place, look forward to it and plan the date firmly.

This year, the Judo Camp was supported with funds from the “Startklar in die Zukunft” funding program of the LandesSportBund (LSB) Lower Saxony. Blau-Weiss Hollage would like to take this opportunity to thank the LSB for the generous support that made a great judo camp possible.

In addition, the judo department would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hollager “Minis” for the great night hike that they organized for the camp participants and the associated support of the judo camp! Thank you Minis!
