Ixmiquilpan and Pachuca win the U14 State Basketball Tournament

The quintets from Ixmiquilpan, in the women’s row, and Pachuca, in the men’s branch, were crowned state champions at the end of the U14 Category State Tournament headquartered in the municipality of Mixquiahuala de Juárez last weekend, informed the president of the Mexican Basketball Sports Association (Ademeba) in Hidalgo, Fernando Pérez Serrano.

The favorable result for the women from Valle del Mezquital materialized in the women’s semifinals, since first Ixmiquilpan beat Mixquiahuala by a score of 58-25; then Pachuca de Soto beat his similar team from San Bartolo Tutotepec 48-24; in the game for third place Mixquiahuala beat San Bartolo Tutotepec by a score of 41-34 and in the grand finale Ixmiquilpan defeated those from the state capital, Pachuca de Soto 44-29 to win the state title.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the Champion Shooter were awarded to the player Keyla Vargas Gachuza member of the champion team Ixmiquilpan, who attracted all the spotlight to her person with her quality of play, which can lead her to occupy a position in the national team for world tournaments to be held in 2023.
