Information on Kodokan Autumn Kouhaku Games

The Kodokan Autumn Red and White Match will be held according to the following requirements.
The red and white match is a traditional event that has been held at the Kodokan since around 1884. Individuals as well as schools and groups can freely participate. In addition, if a player achieves a certain number of wins, regardless of the length of training or the minimum age for promotion, it will be a match in which immediate promotion is permitted on the same day.
Please participate as a big goal of judo training.

*Scheduled event list for 2020, date changed from October 9th (Sun)
■ Location:Kodokan new building 7th floor avenue
■ Eligibility:Be a Kodokan student (you can enter on the day of application).
The men’s division ranges from no-dan to 5-dan, while the women’s division ranges from no-dan to women’s 4-dan.
■ Participation fee: 1,100 yen (330 yen for men’s 4th dan and above and women’s 3rd dan and above)
■ How to apply:
Fill out the prescribed application form (available in front of the accounting department on the 1st floor of the Kodokan main building or at the dojo reception on the 4th floor of the new building) and attach the participation fee. to the Accounting Department.
In the case of mailing, please send the application form to the address below, fill in your contact information and name on the blue payment handling form provided at the post office, and transfer the payment from the post office window or ATM.

■ How to play
Referee Rules for Kodokan Judo Matchesaccording toelimination match(finished in case of a draw).
The duration of the match for both men and women shall be 3 minutes.
The boys’ division shall be two minutes long.
The non-step division will be a high-scoring match with a match time of 3 minutes.
Those who meet outstanding conditions are allowed to be promoted on the same day, regardless of the length of training.
Those who are late for the game will be disqualified, and those who are absent without notice will be disqualified from participating in the next round.
■ About outstanding promotion(From Kodokan’s internal regulations regarding promotion qualifications)
12. (1) At Kodokan Spring/Autumn Ko-Haku matches and Kodokan Osaka International Judo Center Early/Late Ko-Haku matches, scored 6 points or more in a row, and “Ippon win” has 5 or more points. Those who achieve a certain grade are recognized as outstanding and can be promoted on the same day, regardless of the length of training and the minimum age for promotion. However, outstanding promotion is limited to two ranks.
■ As a new corona infectious disease prevention
・All participants must fill in the attached “Physical condition management check sheet” and bring and submit it.
・Submit the “Physical condition check sheet” and measure the temperature at the reception on the 4th floor of the new building (the items on the check sheet must be met).
・Change clothes at the designated place and bring your luggage to each dojo.
(Lockers in locker rooms and bathtubs are prohibited)
・Thorough hand washing and hand disinfection
・In principle, wear a mask except during matches
・Record and clarify the person you have teamed up with and the person you have been in close contact with (recording names, taking photos, etc.)
・When viewing on the 8th floor and each dojo, please keep a sufficient distance
・Do not use the cold water machine (bring your own drinks)
