In China, a Brazilian player is suspended for a year for hitting a referee during a match

Forward Henrique Dourado has been suspended for one year and will have to pay a fine of 29,000 euros (200,000 yuan) after hitting a referee during a match in the Chinese first division.

Playing at Henan Songshan Longmen, the former Fluminense and Flamengo player hit a referee at full speed in the back in the 16th minute of the draw (2-2) against Wuhan Yangtze River on Sunday, in a way that seems deliberate. The 32-year-old, who knocked the referee to the ground, was sent off immediately. His team, which was leading 2-0 before the card, then conceded the draw.

“We hope that everyone can together preserve the good order of the competition and the environment necessary for the development of football,” the Federation said when announcing the suspension. It is not the first time that the Chinese Federation imposes heavy sanctions on a player in case of bad behavior.

In 2017, another Brazilian was suspended: Oscar, recruited from Chelsea for 60 million euros by the Shanghai Port, was suspended for eight matches for having caused a general fight during a meeting.
