Professor Yoichi Katsumata, Tono University “Good athletes are good at standing”
Professor Yoichi Katsuyama of Tono University, who has researched ways to improve baseball performance and has experience teaching a wide range of players from youth baseball to professionals, argues that “how to stand” has a large impact on baseball play. It looks easy, but it is actually difficult to stand. We asked Professor Katsuta to demonstrate a test to check if it was set up correctly.

Standing right looks simple at first glance, but it is profound. Baseball moves from a standing position and rotates the body. Incorrect positioning affects throwing, hitting, and catching movements.
