The star of the NBA Dennis Rodman announced in a recent interview with NBC that he will go to Russia to try and secure the release of Brittney Griner, sentenced to nine years in prison for drug possession. “I was allowed to go to Russia to help that girl. I’m looking to go this week, “revealed the player.

In 2014 the legendary NBA player called the Russian president “a good boy“, and then add that”I know him too well“Despite Rodman’s good intentions, his trip could harm Griner. A senior US government official told NBC that:”It is public information that the administration has made a significant offer to the Russians and anything else besides further negotiating through the established channel risks complicating and hindering release efforts“.
