Gladbach’s pain threshold at Weigl – would a transfer even make sense?

Julian Weigl arouses the interest of the Bundesliga, it is said from Portugal. An interest that is quite surprising when you look at the possible price of the 26-year-old. Above all from Gladbach’s point of view, one should also ask oneself the question of demand.

After two years at Benfica, Julian Weigl could be about to leave Portugal. Under the new coach Roger Schmidt, the six-time national player no longer seems to have the very best prospects of a regular place.

According to the Portuguese Record Three Bundesliga clubs are already showing interest: Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha BSC.

However, it remains questionable whether one of these three clubs could pay the requested 15 million euros. At Eintracht, that would probably only be possible if N’Dicka and/or Kostic were to leave the club.

The situation is even more difficult for Gladbach. More than a single-digit million transfer fee is loud Sky not inside. In any case, you have to ask yourself why you want to invest so much money in Weigl. The construction sites in the squad are certainly different.

With Kramer, Neuhaus, Koné, Fraulo or players like Jonas Hofmann or Lars Stindl, the center of the foals is well occupied. Much more speed on the wing could do the team of new coach Daniel Farke good.

So far, not too much of the rumored squad upheaval has been seen. Benes, Ginter and Embolo brought in 14 million euros. Seven million euros were spent on Itakura and Fraulo. An emergency aid is probably only the Japanese.
