Gladbach started the Bundesliga with seven points after three games, so they are up in the table for the time being. Nevertheless, Borussia coach Daniel Farke (45) let it be known right after the most recent home three (1-0) against Hertha BSC (August 19, 2022) that he still wanted reinforcements for the foal squad.
Especially in the offensive, the squad of Borussia Mönchengladbach is currently sewn to the edge. Marcus Thuram (25) and Alassane Plea (29), who are in good form again, should not injure themselves in this melange, which would hit Borussia hard at the moment.
Gladbach: More and more names are associated with Borussia
The transfer window is open until September 1st. And there are indications that Daniel Farke’s call for offensive reinforcements at the command level in Borussia Park will be heard in the long term.
Sports director Roland Virkus (55) says at “DAZN”: “We are watching the market, no question. And when we talk about positions, it’s clear that we’d like to do more up front. But it has to fit.”
New rumor in this context: Virkus and Borussia are said to be on striker Maxi Gomez (26) from Spanish club FC Valencia.
But would the Uruguayan, a classic center forward and pure center player, actually fit into Gladbach’s prey scheme?
Virkus: “At best, the player can play several positions, i.e. it would be polyvalent. (…) We spotted some interesting players, but I don’t want to talk about that now. Let’s see what can be realized.”
There are now some offensive players who are associated with Gladbach.

In addition to Maxi Gomez, the following are currently “fresh” in the rumor mill: Alexander Sörloth (26 / RB Leipzig), Julian Draxler (28 / Paris Saint-Germain), Joshua Zirkzee (21 / Bayern Munich), Dion Drena Beljo (20 / NK Osijek ) and Franck Honorat (26/Stade Brest).
They are all offensive forces.
