The Overtime is an innovative project that has recently raised dust in the world of basketball. It is a closed league based in Atlanta that appeared at the end of 2021 and that pursues the goal of promoting young talents beyond the classic NCAA to reach the NBA Draft. Founded by tech gurus Dan Porter and Zack Weiner and backed by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos, the academy gives young people a place to live, train, study and play. Pau Gasol is one of the managers.
This proposal is not well regarded among the big European clubs, since it aims to capture the young talents under their tutelage so that they end up irreducibly in the NBA.
