Fulham completed the arrival of goalkeeper Leno from Arsenal

Bernd Leno is leaving Arsenal after four years, but will continue to work in London, having transferred to Fulham. The German goalkeeper has signed a three-year deal with the Premier League newcomers with an option…

According to the English media, the Cottagers can pay 9.5 million euros with all the bonuses, but the basic sum is considerably lower, namely 3.6 million euros. The Gunners will receive additional money for a certain number of starts and, above all, for keeping Fulham among the elite for the next two seasons.

The arrival of Leno is not good news for Slovakian goalkeeper Marek Rodák, who will once again lose his number one position.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper in Arsenal replaced Petr Čech and played regularly until the beginning of last season, but then the talented Aaron Ramsdale took over his position. The English goalkeeper performed well, so Leno became a substitute and sat on the bench for the rest of the season.

Leno left Germany for England for 25 million euros – it remains the most expensive sale of a Leverkusen goalkeeper – if the “Chalupaři” pay all the bonuses for him, he will be among the ten most expensive goalkeepers in history. Bayer sent Stuttgart 7.5 million euros for him more than ten years ago.

The European under-17 champion from 2009 has nine starts for the German national team, where he is among Manuel Neuer’s substitutes. He helped Germany win the FIFA Confederations Cup five years ago.

In addition to Leno, Fulham brought defender Kevin Mbabu (Wolfsburg) and midfielders João Palhinha (Sporting) with Andreas Pereira (Manchester United). An interesting acquisition could be Manor Solomon, who arrived on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk on the basis of a FIFA exception.
