From flirting with Boca to going to football in Turkey

The Uruguayan midfielder, who repeatedly expressed his desire to play for Xeneize, has no place at Arsenal. Galatasaray, his new club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specializing in the European transfer market, the fee that the Premier League team will receive will be worth around €6 million. Arsenal paid €28m to bring Torreira to north London in 2018. There, he played 89 games in his first two years, until in 2020 and 2021 he went on loan to Atlético de Madrid and Fiorentina, respectively. With a year remaining on his current contract, a number of clubs became interested in him, including Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma and Valencia. But he’s going to play Turkey soccer.
