France Football launches Ballon d’Or Dream Team to elect the best team in history | international football

France Football magazine found a way to compensate for the cancellation of the traditional Ballon d’Or award. As it decided not to choose the best player of the season this year, considering that the world football calendar was greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the French publication decided to create the Gold ball Dream Teaman election of the 11 best players in history, by position.

Ten names will be nominated per sector of the field, in a 3-4-3 formation. The lists will be released in three weeks. The first, this Monday, has only defensive players, with seven Brazilians nominated: Djalma Santos, Carlos Alberto Torres and Cafu compete on the right side, while on the left appear Nilton Santos, Júnior, Roberto Carlos and Marcelo.

The nominees for four midfield positions – two defensive midfielders and two midfielders – will be revealed next Monday, the 12th, and the competitors for the three attacking positions – right, left and centre-forward – will come out on the 19th, a week later. .

The election will follow the same rules as the traditional Ballon d’Or, with the votes of 170 experts chosen by France Football, and the Dream Team in football history will be revealed in December. The magazine also opened a poll on its website for the popular election, which will have no influence on the official result.
