The International Federation has established its traditional EuroBasket power ranking. In short, predictions… Slovenia are favorites to retain their title ahead of France and Greece.
About France, FIBA writes:
“There has been a lot of talk about creating a dynasty, and EuroBasket provides the perfect platform for the first stage of that plan. The talent pool is deep, even with some notable absentees, and it will fall to close friends Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier to lead Les Bleus to what they hope will be a first title together after the 2013 triumph. Victor Wembanyama’s absence is also a blow to many who were hoping to see him. »
France’s opponents in the first round are Slovenia (1st), Lithuania (5th), Germany (9th), Bosnia-Herzegovina (16th) and Hungary (21st).
