They beat Laso and Imaz with great authority after another very solid match in which the defender set the pace on the Ogueta fronton

Champions of the La Blanca tournament by crushing. Ezkudia and Zabaleta fulfilled the predictions yesterday and won the Vitoria tournament after beating Laso and Imaz in a match that they had under control from the start, and in which they indisputably embodied their authority. The Etxarren defender maintains his idyll with the Ogueta pitch and was once again the protagonist. He has won all four finals that he has contested in this championship. In the last one he was named best pelotari after his second exhibition in just two days. Ezkurdia picked up his third trophy after playing smart with a bossy teammate. Aspe thus recovers his hemenony in the event, which he has won in eight of the last eleven editions.

Laso and Imaz did not play badly, but rather what they were left with. They were dominated practically from the first pitches. The one from Bizkarreta-Gerendiain deactivated seeing how the ball passed over his head over and over again, and the one from Oiartzun often located in box nine with almost no chance of placing a good ball and more focused on defending than anything else.

The first goal was for the Colorados after a good ball crossed wide with the striker’s left foot, but at the moment in which those who wore blue put their machinery to work, there was no one to stop them. Zabaleta took his right for a walk to put the ball far away and open many holes, while Ezkurdia was fine with the volley and placed the ball well.

The Colorados began to feel overwhelmed and did not know how to get out of the labyrinth in which their rivals put them. The Navarrese tried to take the game to his plot but he had to enter from far away and that is very complicated and he failed more than necessary.

clear domain

In just 86 balls, the Blues already had a four-goal advantage (1-5) and their rivals asked for a break to try to cut their streak. It didn’t do them much good because Arbizu’s player claimed the leading role from him and his cross volley was a devastating blow.

For the halfway point of the contest the advantage of the winners was nine points (2-11), and their rivals did not give any sign that they could change the dynamics. They had to surrender to the evidence. They kept working because they are one of those who never give up, but they were also aware that victory was getting further and further away. Despite changing equipment, Aspe’s men maintained their performance and remained focused to definitively break the match.

Laso took a risk because he had no other choice and scored a three-goal run that served to give the scoreboard some color and encourage an audience that wanted a much tighter final. But it was something temporary because the plate played a trick on the Navarrese striker.

From then on it was just a matter of waiting for Ezkurdia and Zabaleta to put the finishing touch to the match. It cost them a bit because with such an advantage they relaxed and Baiko’s men were able to prolong it a little more. But they went to the second mandatory break after the man from Etxarren sent a ball on the rebound. He then made a couple of mistakes by trying shots that he is not used to, but he was made for the job and could afford it.
