European Championships: Thibaut Bernard, best Belgian in pursuit

By finishing 10th (out of 21) in the men’s individual pursuit, Thibaut Bernard proved to be the best Belgian in the discipline, which did not, however, allow him to qualify for a medal. It is true that only the first four places qualified. Facing the Latvian Kornilovs, Bernard completed his 4 km in 4:19.761. Previously, Brent Van Mulders had set a time of 4:27.012, synonymous with 18th place. On the women’s side, Marith Vanhove set the 11th fastest time and Katrijn De Clercq, the 13th (out of 19). Facing the Ukrainian Yaroshenko, Vanhove covered her 3 km in 3:35.819. A few minutes later, De Clercq set off in turn, accompanied by the Briton Morris (5th in 3:26.307), and completed her 15 laps in 3:38.700, equivalent to the 13th overall time.
