Because I’m a soccer player, I have more sex!

There’s someone honest.

Giorgio Chiellini (38) has not only brought success to his football career on the pitch. The Italian played for Juventus Turin from 2004 until last summer and won nine league titles and five cup titles with the club.

With the national team, as captain, he snatched the 2021 European Championship title from England in the Wembley final when the Azzurri won the final 3-2 on penalties.

But he also benefits from his status as a well-known footballer off the pitch. When asked on the Team Serie A podcast if his fame helped him in his sex life, he replied: “Look at me. Look how ugly I am… yes.”

It’s not the first time the defensive legend has described himself as “ugly”. He had already used the word in 2017 to describe his footballing career.

Chiellini: “I was never the best in my age group. I was like the ugly duckling.”

And further: “I’m not pretty to look at, but I’ve always improved. This is my best skill. I’m 33 but I’m having my best season ever. There is no secret, just passion and work,” Chiellini said at the time.

Passion and work – that’s how the ugly duckling toiled to become one of the best defenders of the past decade.

And apparently found happiness in private life as a result. He has been married to Carolina Bonistalli since 2014, they have daughters Nina (7) and Olivia (3). He moved to the United States with his family this summer as Chiellini moved to Los Angeles FC.

He signed a contract with the US club for a year and a half and is playing outside of Italy for the first time.

Chiellini on the Juventus twitch channel: “It’s a big city but still a good lifestyle. It’s a different atmosphere than in Italy, but I try to do things in the best way.”

He continued: “I am more confident than ever that I made the right decision and this helps me to enjoy the present while looking to the future. I enjoy it with enthusiasm and tranquility and have no regrets.”

The success proves him right: his new club has won all four games in which Chiellini has played for LAFC so far.
