At the World Championships in Les Gets, France, Nathalie Schneitter won the bronze medal in the e-mountain bike discipline on Friday. At the finish, the gap to the winner and compatriot Nicole Göldi was 1:25 minutes. The 36-year-old from Solothurn was around ten seconds behind second-placed Justine Tonso (FRA).

The Swiss delegation can look back on successful competitions at the Mountain Bike World Championships. Schneitter’s bronze medal was already the sixth precious metal for a driver from Switzerland. Joris Ryf then added another medal with his third place in the men’s E race.

For Schneitter, who grew up in Lommiswil and now lives in Rüttenen, after 2019 (gold) and 2020 (bronze) it is the third World Championship medal in the still young discipline since she made her comeback on e-mountain bikes three years ago Has. Schneitter had been one of the best mountain bikers in the country for years before she announced her (temporary) retirement from professional sports in 2016. (maf)
