Last season, the Nets were already eliminated in the first round after an unequivocal 0:4 defeat against Boston. In addition, Brooklyn traded another superstar James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers during the year.
Durant already requested a trade at the end of June and last week he had a meeting with owner Je Tsai. He stands behind the coach and manager. “Our management and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions that are in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets,” Tsai tweeted.

Almost exactly a year ago, Durant signed a four-year, $198 million contract with the Nets. He should earn 42.97 million next season. Toronto, Miami and Boston have already shown interest in his services.

Durant is a twelve-time participant in the NBA All-Star Game, four times he was the king of regular season scorers. He won titles with Golden State in 2017 and 2018, also receiving Finals MVP honors both times. In 2014, he was the MVP of the entire league. He introduced him to the NBA in 2007 as the number two draft pick of Seattle (after moving to the Oklahoma club), where he spent nine seasons before leaving for Golden State in 2016.
Durant averaged 29.9 points per game in 55 games last season. In the NBA, he has a total of 939 starts in the regular season with an average of 27.2 points.
