Viterbo – Last hours of freedom for the girls of Domus Mulieris who, from the morning of this Thursday, September 1st, will meet to kick off the preparations for the official season in the women’s basketball Serie B championship.
Just in these days the composition of the group and the formula of the championship have been made known: it will start on October 9 with a grouping that includes 11 formations, all from Lazio, called to face each other in an Italian group with home and away matches. . Once the first phase is over, on the weekend of 18 and 19 March 2023, the best eight will access the playoffs with best-of-three series (quarter-finals, semifinals and finals) while the last three will give life to a mini group with games round trip that will make only the last classified relegation to Serie C. As far as promotions are concerned, we will have to wait for what will be resolved by the Fip, as well as for the championship calendar that will be announced in the coming weeks.
In addition to Domus Mulieris, the line-ups at the start of Serie B will be San Raffaele Basket, Esquilino, Frascati, Sporthub Rieti, Virtus Albano-Pavona, Smit Roma, Virtus Aprilia, Elite Roma, Basket Roma and Bull Latina.
The meeting for the Domus Mulieris is scheduled for 9 at the Palazzetto dello Sport, with a program that includes two daily training sessions until Sunday 11 September and according to a table that will be communicated by the technical staff to the players directly in conjunction with the first training session. .
The staff at the disposal of coach Carlo Scaramuccia has been profoundly renewed: many in fact the players who, thanks also to the good performances in the yellow and blue jersey, have been called to play more prestigious championships where they will certainly know how to be honored. Many girls arrived in Viterbo with the desire to emerge and conquer important spaces to contribute to a good season for coach Scaramuccia’s team. In addition to Michaela Gionchilie, whose arrival in the Gialloblù had already been defined in July, the club welcomed a very fierce group of young people who will immediately make themselves available to the Viterbo technician: it is Susanna Puggioni, born in 2007 and sister of Arianna who she has already worn the Ants jersey in recent seasons, Elettra Paco, also from 2007, Laura Masnate (2005), all from Alghero, Benedetta Fantozzi (2006), Elite Roma player but who was also in Alghero last year , and Melania Nobili (2006) who played last season with the Stella Azzurra Roma but comes from Rieti. For all of them it will be the first training session in their new team and, it is hoped, the beginning of a path that will lead them to be protagonists in the top championships.
