Surprise at cup line-up |
Nagelsmann relies on THIS Bayern star
The lineup is here!
FC Bayern starts with the first round game at third division team Viktoria Köln (8:46 p.m. / ARD or here in the BILD live ticker) in the DFB Cup. And for the first time this season, coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) rotates on a grand scale.
And Nagelsmann surprisingly relies on Sven Ulreich (34) against Cologne! He stands for national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (36) in goal.
Also new in the starting XI: Sturm jewel Mathys Tel (17/for up to 28.5 million euros from Stade Rennes) celebrates his starting XI debut in a Bayern jersey. Ryan Gravenberch (20/came from Ajax for up to 24 million) and Noussair Mazraoui (24/free transfer from Amsterdam) are also allowed to make their debuts. Nagelsmann had already announced this in advance.
Nagelsmann: “Mathys, Ryan and Nous will usually start and get their chance. Stani too.”
Croatian talent Josip Stanisic (22) and defense boss Matthijs de Ligt (23) also play in the first round from the start. Just like Thomas Müller (32) and Joshua Kimmich (27).
Bayern and Leipzig (8-0 against Ottensen on Tuesday) entered the cup competition later because they played out the Supercup on July 30 (5-3 for Bayern).
This is how Bayern play at Viktoria Köln: Ulreich – Mazraoui, de Ligt, Hernández, Stanisic – Kimmich, Gravenberch – Gnabry, Mané – Müller, Tel.
