Judoka, minister and now dancer! The former Olympic judo champion from Rouen, David Douilletis announced in the cast of the program Dancing with the stars on TF1.

David Douillet, from the tatami mats to the Dancing floor with the stars

According to revelations from the newspaper The Parisian, the sportsman will join the twelfth season of the TF1 dance competition at the start of the school year. Double Olympic champion, quadruple world and European judo champion, David Douillet therefore swaps the tatami for the floor.

He will face among others the comedian Florent Peyre, the Filipino singer Billy Crawford and a former Miss France (and Miss Normandy) Amandine Petit! All under the gaze of a partly renewed jury composed of Chris Marques, François Alu, Marie-Agnès Gillot and Bilal Hassani.

Already seen in Mask Singer and at the National Assembly

This is not the Rouennais’ first television challenge. In 2019, he took part in the first season of Mask Singer, singing under the costume of the lion.

Before that, we had also been able to see him in a special celebrity version of Top Chef.

We also knew the judoka in the costume of a politician: he was a municipal councilor and deputy for Yvelines, then secretary of state and minister under Nicolas Sarkozy, before being elected to the Regional Council of Île-de- France. During his political career, he had to respond to accusations of sexism and homophobia, in connection with remarks made in books he wrote.
